Mark Alan Perkins, Esq.
Rapid Response & Medical Evaluation of Catastrophic Trucking Accidents
Mark Perkins, trucking and insurance defense attorney, will present the critical information needed within 24 hours of a major accident. Significant evidence could include the defendant’s medical history, current medical condition and/or injuries, drug and alcohol screening, medical exam certification, current medication preservation, and ancillary factors such as fatigue or diabetes. He will also cover the immediate case work up, determination of themes, and types of experts to acquire for possible litigation according to the injuries and medical aspects of the case.
Mark graduated magna cum laude in journalism from Northeast Louisiana University in 1983. He graduated law school in 1987 from Paul M. Hebert School of Law at Louisiana State University. Beginning his legal career as a prosecutor, he has litigated hundreds of bench and jury trials. As a prosecutor, Mark was one of the first prosecutors in Louisiana to use DNA evidence, which was novel-evidence at the time, to convict a serial rapist.
Later Mark transitioned to private practice and in 1998, he formed his own boutique law firm focusing on the defense of complex and catastrophic claims, particularly trucking defense.
He is a member of the following Bar Associations: American, Louisiana, Texas, U.S. Western and Middle Districts of Louisiana, U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is also a member of Defense Research Institute, Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, Trucking Insurance Defense Association, Transportation Lawyers Association, and Louisiana Motor Transit Association. He routinely blogs about the defense of trucking and has recently created a mobile rapid response form that can be used by permission at Perkins Firm.
