My clinical nursing background has included an emphasis on medical and surgical patient care, operating room nursing, and developing and coordinating research studies in the department of surgery at Duke University. I am published in this field and I have been a frequent presenter at seminars and professional conferences.
For the past 17 years I have been a Legal Nurse Consultant experienced in comprehensive medical case management to include:
preparing detailed summaries and chronologies
organizing and comparing medical records
reviewing and analyzing medical records
conducting medical literature research using various databases
providing education regarding medical topics
obtaining, retaining and conferring with expert witnesses; reviewing and analyzing expert witness testimony and reports
preparing power points for mediation, deposition and trials
performing client interviews
screening cases for potential merit
collaborating with attorneys and others involved in the legal process; providing support during discovery, depositions and trial
training medical team staff.
